Lentil & Rice Soup

A simple soup that can be adapted to taste. Like adding at least another cup of veggies - like chopped carrots or zucchini. I've also added a bit of curry and it was very tasty. Play with it!
Ingredients
1/2 cup lentils
3/4 cup brown rice
7 cups water
3/4 cups chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon salt
Method
Rinse the lentils, then bring the lentils, rice and water to a boil.
Add onion, garlic, dill, bay leaf and salt. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, until the rice and lentils are tender - about one hour.
Discard bay leaf and serve.
