Quick, simple and dramatic, should mention tasty too.
4 ripe Bananas
1/3cup Dark rum
1/4 cup Water
Juice of 2 lemons
Preheat oven to 200c
Cut the bananas in half, down the middle, lengthways.
Bake in the preheated oven for just 15 minutes.
While they’re in the last ten mins of baking, in a pan combine all the other ingredients except the rum and cook on a high temp for about 5 minutes
When the sauce turns a golden caramel colour quickly lower the heat and add the rum .. now set the rum alight and serve your flaming bananas to the table.
This sauce can be used with other fruit. you can also of course swap the butter for margarine, but there's a definite taste difference.
